EMS Summer School on Combinatorial Commutative Algebra
August 8 - August 12
There will be an EMS (European Mathematical Society) summer school on Combinatorial Commutative Algebra at Gebze Technical University (in Turkey) on August 8-12, 2022.
The summer school is part of a larger event acronymed SCALE (Symbolic Computation: Algorithms, Learning, and Engineering).
The main goal of this summer school is to create an environment for participants, especially for postdocs and graduate students, to learn about some of the foundational topics and emerging research directions in combinatorial commutative algebra. Three courses will be offered by the invited speakers and the participants will be given the opportunity to present short talks or posters. The titles of the lectures are:
— Trace ideals in commutative algebra and combinatorics
Lecturer: Jürgen Herzog (Universität Duisburg-Essen, Germany)
–Convex Polytopes, Monomial Ideals and Toric Rings
Lecturer: Takayuki Hibi (Osaka University, Japan)
–Binomial ideals associated to graphs
Lecturer: Sara Saeedi Madani (Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran)
There will be support for accommodation and travel costs of students and early stage researchers. If you wish to apply for support, please submit your application by May 15, 2022. Please visit the webpage https://scale.gtu.edu.tr/CCA.
