Tulane 2008

The Clifford Lectures is an annual event supported by the mathematics department at Tulane University since 1984. The Lectures consists of a series of talks given by a distinguished mathematician and a mini-conference held in conjunction, whose speakers are suggested by the main lecturer. This year, the conference will be held November 12-15, 2008, and the lecturer will be Professor Bernd Sturmfels of the University of California at Berkeley. The topic of the lecture series will be Tropical Algebra.

17th National School on Algebra, Constanta, Romania

The Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy (Bucharest) and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science from Bucharest University, in cooperation with the Romanian Mathematical Society and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science from Ovidius University, Constanta, will organize the 17th National School on Algebra, October 6-11, Constanta, Romania.
