Interactions between Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry II
September 28-29, 2013
Tulane University, New Orleans, USA.
The goal of this conference is to outline various aspects of the strong interplay between Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry. The conference will be of relatively small size, bringing experts, young researchers, recent PhD’s and graduate students in these research areas together to generate research discussion and to foster research collaboration between its participants.
Speakers: The following people have agreed to speak at our conference.
Susan Cooper, Central Michigan University.
Chris Francisco, Oklahoma State University.
Juan Migliore, Notre Dame University.
Uwe Nagel, University of Kentucky.
Alexandra Seceleanu, University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Zach Teitler, Boise State University.

Romanian National School on Algebra

The 21st edition of the Romanian National School on Algebra will take place in Bucharest, Romania, September 2-6. The topic of this year’s school is “Algebraic Methods in Combinatorics”.
The school aims at introducing students and young researchers to new areas of research in combinatorial commutative algebra. It is organized by Institute of Mathematics “Simion Stoilow” of the Romanian Academy (Bucharest) and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Bucharest University, in cooperation with the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Ovidius University, Constanta.
Topics include: an overview of Stanley-Reisner theory, combinatorics of hyperplane arrangements, the use of exterior algebra methods, binomial edge ideals, monomial ideals with extra combinatorial structure.
Details about the program and registration are available at the school’s webpage.
