2nd Bluegrass Algebra Conference

The 2nd Bluegrass Algebra Conference will be held in Lexington, Kentucky, during the period March 6-8, 2009. The conference continues a well established tradition of commutative algebra and algebraic geometry meetings in the Midwest. In order to enhance the visibility of mathematics among the diverse population of the University of Kentucky students, the conference will be preceded by a lecture aimed at the undergraduate level. The lecture will be delivered by Professor David Cox (Amherst College) and it is scheduled at 4:00 pm on Thursday, March 5, 2009. The official beginning of the conference will be marked by a colloquium talk delivered by Professor Steven Kleiman (MIT), which is scheduled at 4:00 pm on Friday, March 6, 2009.
