Professor Daniel D. Anderson was one of the leading algebraists of his generation. He received his Ph.D. at the University of Chicago in 1974 under Irving Kaplansky. He spent 45 years at the University of Iowa and had a remarkable career, having over 230 publications with more than 70 different co-authors and having 36 Ph.D. students. Sadly he passed away in April 2022 after a long battle of esophageal cancer.
An inaugural research conference in his honor is being held at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA on July 17 and 18, 2025. Participation for attendees and presenters can be either in person of fully remotely via zoom.
