SUMMARY:BRIDGES 2024
DESCRIPTION:The BRIDGES conference (Building Relationships for an Inclusive and Diverse Group of Emerging Students) is aimed towards early graduate students and advanced undergraduate students interested in algebraic geometry\, commutative algebra\, geometric group theory\, and number theory. The 2024 edition will be held on July 10–12\, and the speakers will be  Kim Ruane (Tufts University)\, Rekha Thomas (University of Washington)\, and Ila Varma (University of Toronto). For more information\, see the conference website.

SUMMARY:ISSAC + Macaulay2 mini-school + Workshop on Differential Algebra
DESCRIPTION:The 2024 edition of ISSAC\, a yearly conference on algebra and computation\, will be held at NC State University on July 16-19. There will also be two satellite events: a Macaulay2 mini-school before the conference\, and Workshop on Differential Algebra. Here are the websites for the three events: \nMacaulay2 mini-school\, July 14-15\nISSAC\, July 16-19\nWorkshop on Differential Algebra\, July 20-22 \nISSAC is a yearly conference on algebra and computation. Part of the program are “short communications” consisting of a ~4 page extended abstract and a poster presentation. These are typically used by junior participants to publicize work that is either in-progress or already published. The deadline to apply to present a poster is May 14. PhD students at US universities will be eligible for travel funding provided (through the NSA) once registration opens. \nNSF support is pending for the two-day Macaulay2 “mini-school”\, and graduate students can apply by May 14 to be considered for funding.

SUMMARY:Combinatorial Commutative Algebra summer school
DESCRIPTION:The 2024 “Increasing Diversity in Mathematical Sciences” summer school will be held at Dalhousie University in Halifax\, NS\, Canada\, on July 29 – August 2\, 2024.  This year’s theme is Combinatorial Commutative Algebra. \nEligibility: the school is seeking applications from female and female-identifying students who have finished at least two years of an undergraduate degree in the mathematical sciences. Applicants having successfully completed a honour’s-level proof-based course in linear algebra will be given full consideration. A third-year course in algebra covering rings and ideals will be considered an asset. \nFor more information and the application link: see \nhttp://www.fields.utoronto.ca/activities/24-25/IDMS-2024 \nand \nhttps://www.mathstat.dal.ca/~faridi/DIMS.html. \n
