DESCRIPTION:The University of Minnesota will host the conference Gender Equity in the Mathematical Study (GEMS) of Commutative Algebra the weekend of November 10-12\, 2023.  This conference is primarily aimed at women and non-binary graduate students who are studying or considering studying commutative algebra or a related field.  Those in their first through third years of a PhD program are especially encouraged to apply.  The conference will begin with a social event on Friday evening and conclude Sunday midday.  There will be three 50-minute plenary talks with accompanying exercise sessions\, three 20-minute talks by senior graduate students\, lightning talks by all willing participants\, and numerous opportunities for professional development and community building.  The deadline to apply for funding is September 15.  For more information\, please see the conference website.
