SUMMARY:[Ischia\, Italy] Workshop on Weak and Strong Lefschetz Properties across Mathematics
DESCRIPTION:The Workshop on Weak and Strong Lefschetz Properties across Mathematics will take place October 19-23\, 2026 at the\nHotel Terme Tritone Resort & Spa\, Ischia\, Italy. \nThe arrival day is October 18th.  The number of participants is limited\, due to the capacity of the conference room.  We have very limited funds for accommodation and travel expenses for a few participants.  The deadline for application for financial support is March 31st\, and the deadline for registration is September 19th\, or until the maximum number of participants is reached. Please register at the workshop website. \nThis workshop advances the study of Lefschetz properties in commutative algebra and related fields\, fostering collaboration among researchers in topology\, algebraic geometry\, combinatorics\, and more.  Goals include promoting cutting-edge research\, mentoring junior mathematicians\, and enhancing leadership\, particularly for women and early-career researchers.  The event supports academic growth for under-represented and geographically isolated participants.  Research talks reflecting the field’s latest advancements and interdisciplinary collaboration aim to spark innovative ideas and breakthroughs\, contributing to the progress of this dynamic area of study.

SUMMARY:[Lahore\, Pakistan] CIMPA Research School: Bridging Algebra and Combinatorics
DESCRIPTION:This school aims to explore and deepen the multifaceted\nconnections between algebra and combinatorics\, highlighting how\nideas and techniques from these fields interact and enrich one\nanother. The curriculum brings together foundational and\ncontemporary topics in algebraic combinatorics\, commutative\nalgebra\, algebraic geometry\, and topology. \nThrough a combination of lectures\, problem-solving sessions\,\nexamples\, and collaborative research activities\, participants\nwill engage with current research directions and open problems\,\nwhile developing a broader understanding of how algebraic\,\ncombinatorial\, geometric\, and topological methods come together\nin modern mathematical research. \nSee https://sites.google.com/view/lums-cimpa-school-2026 for more information.

SUMMARY:[Auburn Alabama] Macaulay2 at Auburn
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a collaborative workshop bringing together graduate students\, postdocs\, and faculty to develop Macaulay2 software for mathematical research. Participants will work in groups with expert project leaders\, learn through hands-on coding and tutorials\, and build new collaborations across algebra\, geometry\, and combinatorics. All levels of Macaulay2 experience are welcome. \nProjects include toric geometry\, matroids\, quadratic forms\, tropical intersections\, and p-adic computation. The workshop offers opportunities to contribute to open-source mathematical software while learning new mathematics and practical development skills. \nApply by January 6\, 2027\, for funding consideration. See the workshop website  https://johndcobb.github.io/organizing/M2atAuburn/ for project descriptions and registration.\nOrganized by John Cobb\, Sean Grate\, and Michael Brown. Supported by NSF grant DMS-2625606.
