Yokohama 2008: March 17, 2008

There will be a conference on Commutative Algebra in Yokohama, Japan, March 17--21 2008. The conference is organized by Shiro Goto, Kei-ichi Watanabe, Koji Nishida, and Kazuhiko Kurano.

The main theme of the conference is the recent trends on commutative algebra, including the following topics.

  • Blow-up algebras (Rees algebras of ideals and modules, graded rings associated to ideals, fiber cones of ideals)
  • Hilbert functions and Sally modules
  • Integral closures of ideals and rings, tight closures, multiplier ideals
  • Homological conjectures
  • Invariant theory
  • Representation theory of local algebras
