Lafayette, Indiana (in honor of J. Lipman): May 17, 2004On the occasion of his sixt-fifth birthday and in celebration of his contributions to both commutative algebra and algebraic geometry, there will be a Midwest Commutative Algebra and Geometry Conference in honor of Joseph Lipman at Purdue University, May 17-21, 2004. The conference is organized around Lipman's research interests, including resolution of singularities, singularity theory, Rees algebras and Briancon-Skoda theorems, duality theory and homological algebra. The organizers are William Heinzer, Craig Huneke, and Bernd Ulrich. More information, including a list of prospective speakers, is on the conference web page.
