The first joint meeting between the Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) and the Sociedad Matemática Mexicana (SMM) will be held in Guanajuato, Mexico. The meeting will take place during September 21 - 23, 2006. Of particular interest to the commutative algebra community will be a Session on Algebra, organized by Ragnar-Olaf Buchweitz (Toronto), José Antonio de la Peña (UNAM) and Arturo Pianzola (Alberta).
